Description
Prototype Fabricator
Sets up and operates production machines to fabricate prototype products based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates standard or special purpose machines to build prototypes based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
- Upholds machine maintenance, requests assistance as necessary. Ensures work area is orderly and clean.
- Sets up and operates weld machine to complete weld requirements as specified.
- Verifies proper tooling is installed.
- Documents adjustments made and communicates with necessary team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Advanced knowledge of machinery and production processes.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Computer skills including ERP systems.
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
