Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our IT team in California. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level network infrastructure and security. This role requires deep technical knowledge of network systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead or support infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and manage LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and internet connectivity across multiple locations.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Ensure optimal network performance through proactive monitoring, diagnostics, and fine-tuning.
  • Implement and maintain secure access policies, including VPN, ACLs, and firewall rules.
  • Lead network projects including hardware upgrades, site expansions, and cloud integrations.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end IT resilience.
  • Document network architecture, configurations, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001 if relevant).
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical network support (as needed).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles.
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, QoS).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or equivalent enterprise-grade network equipment.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining firewalls (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Wireshark.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or Fortinet NSE.
  • Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Exposure to SD-WAN, network automation (Ansible, Python), and Zero Trust Network Architecture.
  • Familiarity with California-based data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA).
