Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance activities supporting plant machinery and infrastructure within a 24/7 industrial manufacturing environment. This role supports the production of high-performance materials by maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, steam, refrigeration, and piping systems to ensure reliable facility operations.
The position requires strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities across a broad range of industrial equipment and systems.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or ability to pass pre-employment assessment
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience with industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and hydraulic equipment
• Experience with pumps, piping, and gearbox rebuilds
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Ability to perform welding, fabrication, and pipefitting activities
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds
• Ability to meet respirator qualification requirements including OSHA fit testing and medical clearance
• Military technical maintenance experience accepted in lieu of industry experience

Requirements
• Perform millwright activities including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and rebuilding of industrial machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Perform sheet metal fabrication, cutting, welding, and forming operations
• Complete plumbing and pipefitting tasks including welding pipe, installing valves, and gasketing
• Support refrigeration systems including ammonia compressors and ice-making systems
• Perform preventive maintenance activities including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and repairs
• Work on steam systems including boilers, steam traps, condensate pumps, and steam piping
• Adhere to all plant safety standards and work procedures
• Support production operations in a continuous 24/7 manufacturing environment

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Additional industrial maintenance certifications or technical training
• Experience supporting chemical or process manufacturing operations
• Military mechanical or industrial maintenance background
