Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial process equipment and facility systems within a manufacturing environment. This role supports plant operations through mechanical maintenance activities involving pipefitting, millwright work, welding, fabrication, rigging, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work from technical drawings and specifications, and the capability to support maintenance operations across a wide variety of industrial systems.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• High school diploma, trade school diploma, or GED
• Experience working in chemical, refining, or manufacturing environments
• Military technical experience accepted in lieu of industry experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience with rotating and fixed industrial equipment
• Good computer and communication skills
• Ability to work from technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation
• Ability to work in confined spaces

Requirements
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial process equipment and facility systems
• Perform pipefitting, structural steel work, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs, and millwright activities
• Maintain rotating and fixed equipment including pumps, agitators, tanks, furnaces, and boilers
• Perform basic welding and fabrication work
• Support general building and grounds maintenance
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as required
• Coordinate with multi-craft maintenance teams
• Communicate equipment deficiencies and repair updates to supervision
• Maintain housekeeping and workplace safety standards
• Update maintenance records and utilize maintenance computer systems
• Enter and work within confined spaces when required

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Additional education or training in mechanical maintenance
• Experience using diagnostic instruments and maintenance power tools
• Experience operating machine shop equipment such as metal lathes and milling machines
• Experience performing fabrication and repair work using shop equipment
