About the Role
Keel is seeking an entry-level Press Brake Operator to support fabrication operations within a defense manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for safely performing basic press brake operations, simple bend setups, and assisting higher-level operators to ensure quality and production efficiency. Work involves handling steel and other heavy materials in a fast-paced shop setting.
What You'll Do
- Perform basic press brake operations on steel and other materials
- Set up and operate manual or CNC press brakes under supervision
- Execute simple bend setups following work orders and instructions
- Read and follow blueprints and work instructions
- Inspect parts to ensure conformance with quality standards
- Maintain machine cleanliness and organized work area
- Participate in 5S and safe work practices
- Support higher-level operators and production team as needed
- Follow all safety requirements and PPE guidelines
Must-Have Skills and Experience

- High school diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of press brake or fabrication experience
- Ability to read simple blueprints and work orders
- Basic understanding of fabrication and material handling
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs, with heavier weights moved using mechanical assistance
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
Nice-to-Have Skills

- Prior experience operating CNC press brakes
- Forklift and overhead crane certifications
- Experience in steel fabrication or defense manufacturing
- Exposure to GD&T concepts
- Willingness to learn CNC programming and advanced press brake techniques

Schedule:
- 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Salary Range: $21-25+ based on experience and skill
- Travel: None
- Certifications: Forklift and crane certifications preferred or willingness to obtain
