We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our lean, high-performing HR team. This is an entry-level opportunity crafted for someone eager to build a meaningful HR career in a fast-paced, startup-minded environment. You will work closely with and directly support our Sr. HR Generalist & HR team, gaining hands-on exposure across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, compliance, and employee relations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will directly support our Sr. HR Generalist and collaborate across the HR team to keep our people operations running smoothly. As you grow, so will your responsibilities.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

  • Coordinate and execute the full new hire onboarding experience, ensuring every employee feels welcomed, prepared, and set up for success.
  • Partner with the Sr. HR Generalist to continuously improve onboarding processes, checklists, and documentation.
  • Support offboarding logistics including exit interviews, system access terminations, and equipment returns.

HRIS & Employee Records

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records across all stages of the employment lifecycle in our HRIS platform.
  • Audit HR data regularly and flag discrepancies to the Sr. HR Generalist for resolution.
  • Generate standard reports and assist in preparing data for leadership review.

Benefits Administration

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits questions.
  • Coordinate open enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and vendor communications.
  • Track and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and assist with audits.

Payroll Support

  • Assist with biweekly payroll processing — collecting, verifying, and entering changes such as new hires, terminations, LOAs, and compensation adjustments.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy, escalating issues as needed.
  • Support payroll compliance efforts; payroll tax experience is a plus.

Recruiting & Hiring Support

  • Support the recruiting process end-to-end: posting roles, scheduling interviews, coordinating with candidates, and maintaining our ATS.
  • Assist the Sr. HR Generalist with screening calls and candidate communication, gaining hands-on interviewing experience over time.
  • Help ensure a positive candidate experience at every touchpoint.

Compliance & HR Operations

  • Track federal, state, and local compliance requirements and help maintain up-to-date HR policies, handbooks, and documentation.
  • Assist with filing, reporting, and records retention in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Support the Sr. HR Generalist in preparing for audits, open enrollment, and other cyclical HR events.

General HR Administrative Support

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team managing calendars, drafting communications, coordinating logistics, and keeping projects on track.
  • Take initiative on ad hoc projects as the team grows and needs evolve.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR, administrative, or related support role.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and general HR processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Recruiting or interviewing experience is a plus.
  • Payroll experience is a plus; payroll tax knowledge is an added bonus.
